Sheffield Local Group

Background

Sheffield Local Group of the Royal Statistical Society was created in 1945. We organise an annual programme of 4-5 talks, in which we aim to cover topical themes across a variety of statistical applications that we hope will appeal to anyone with an interest in statistics. We invite speakers to talk about topics of current interest, both from the local region to showcase statistical activity in South Yorkshire and from around the UK to highlight wider statistical thinking. Our talks are typically held in the late afternoon on Thursdays (with refreshments available beforehand).
