Royal Institution Masterclasses
The Royal Institution Masterclass programme opens young people’s eyes to the diversity of mathematics, engineering and computer science. All over the UK, keen and talented young people who have been nominated by their teachers attend series of workshops to explore areas of these subjects outside their school experience.
Workshops are delivered by talented and enthusiastic professionals from education, academia and teaching, with the students seeing a different speaker each week. The programme aims to allow students to gain a deeper understanding of the wonders and applications of these far-reaching subjects and to continue their interest and engagement into later life. Masterclasses are currently offered nationally in Mathematics at Primary level and in Mathematics, Engineering and Computer Science at Secondary level.
The Royal Institution are working with the RSS to increase the numbers of workshops featuring statistics and data.
How to get involved
Volunteers can get involved as masterclass speakers, leading a session for young people, or as helpers, supporting the speakers in delivering their sessions. Find out how to get involved on the Royal Institution website.
