Official and national statistics policy

Our policy statements and reports, correspondence, and consultation responses relating to official and national statistics are available below.

The RSS liaises closely with ONS, the Statistics Authority and other stakeholders to inform our public policy work on the development of official statistics in the UK.

Discussion of UK policy for official statistics takes place through our National Statistics Advisory Group on a voluntary basis, assisted by the Society’s Policy & Research Manager and other RSS staff. We also support development of statistics internationally, through our international development working group.
