The Society offers free membership to all students in full or part time education with an interest in statistics and data science
Like fellows, our e-Student members come from a range of backgrounds, studying courses from mathematics and statistics, to economics, epidemiology, psychology and data science. To help you through your course, we offer you access to several key membership benefits, including:
- Improving knowledge - you will receive relevant statistical and data analytical news from around the world via our StatsLife website and fortnightly e-news bulletin. You’ll also enjoy free access to Significance magazine through the iOS and Android apps.
- Having a voice - through our member-led policy work, you will have a voice. Whether it’s influencing education policy or responding to consultations, you’ll be able to influence decision makers and help change the role of data in society.
- Sharing best practice - as an e-student member, you can tap into our structure of groups and meetings to get involved, network, learn what’s going on in your local area or specialism and, above all, share best practice.
We also offer students the opportunity to join as fellows for a reduced subscription fee to gain full access to the benefits of being a member. Find out more about becoming an RSS fellow.
Get involved - Young Statisticians’ Section (YSS)
The YSS aims to unite statisticians in the early stages of their careers, acting as a central resource which supports, promotes, coordinates and provides a voice for all those within the YSS community. They run regular meetings and social events and students are encouraged to get involved – find out more here.
