Past papers and solutions

We provide past papers and solutions to help candidates prepare for exams and for anyone interested in our exams.

Free download of PDF files is available from here. If you need paper copies, these can be purchased from us (email us for more information). Solutions to the Graduate Diploma Options Paper are not available.

The examiners’ detailed comments on the standard of work in each year’s exam are also available.

(The Hong Kong Statistical Society (HKSS) provides suggested solutions to many of our papers – these are available from the HKSS website. These solutions are based on material provided by us, but we cannot be responsible for their accuracy.)

Course structure and papers

Papers from 2001 – 2006 follow the original course structure. These papers are listed according to the year they were set: 2006 - 2005 - 2004 - 2003 - 2002 – 2001

A modular version of the Ordinary Certificate was introduced in 2011 to replace the former Paper I and Paper II of the Ordinary Certificate. The syllabuses for the two separate modules (Module 1 and Module 2) are virtually identical to those for the former Paper I and Paper II respectively. Therefore the past papers and solutions for Papers I and II are suitable for use in conjunction with the new Modules 1 and 2.

A modular version of the Higher Certificate was introduced in 2007. Specimen papers and solutions for all the modules are available below.
