CONSULTATION MEETING ON THE FUNDAMENTAL REVIEW OF DATA RETURNS

A meeting will be held on Monday 31 October at The Royal Statistical Society (12 Errol Street, London EC1Y 8LX)  from 1 o’clock until 4.30pm to discuss the Fundamental Review of Data Returns, which is being led by the Department of Health with a closing date of 22 November 2011.  The review builds on the commitment in Equity and Excellence: Liberating the NHS to undertake a review to remove data returns of limited value, and the consultation proposes to discontinue 25% of data returns commissioned by the Department and its Arms Length Bodies.

All are welcome.

The meeting will include presentations on

  • Overview of the Fundamental Review (Martin Sutton, DH)
  • The impact on National and Official Statistics (Andy Sutherland, NHS IC)
  • Links to the Strategic Framework developed by HSUG (David Canham, DH)

The meeting will include interactive sessions for participants to record comments on the impact of the review and any concerns, or thoughts about implications and alternative data sources.  There will also be an opportunity for discussion and clarification of proposed changes.

Whilst points of serious concern should also be sent direct as responses to the consultation, this is an opportunity to make, record and discuss thoughts and concerns, and to understand and clarify the proposed changes.

Register in advance as places are limited.

Tea and Coffee will be provided.
