The Census: 2011 and beyond | |

- how did we get here?: an overview of recent census developments leading up to an overview of plans for 2011, including a very brief look at the October Census rehearsal and White Paper (Professor David Martin, University of Southampton)
- the contributions the census makes to policy making at national and local levels and how the Census has been used to implement policy making across the past decade (Neil Storer, Culture and Environment Directorate, London Borough of Camden)
- the future of the census after 2011 and, following the 2011 census exercise, changes which might be considered in relation to the gathering of information (Jil Matheson, National Statistician)
The final session of this meeting will be a chaired open floor discussion with our panel of speakers.
