The aim of the Section is to study and disseminate information about the interface between statistics and computing. This includes both:
- statistical computing - the development and application of statistical methods that rely on computation;
- computational statistics - the algorithms and software that underlie statistical methods.
The Section has had a web site for
about eight years, hosted at the University of Glasgow.
