The Statistics User Forum is pressing for the establishment of
a permanent and definitive national address register, updated on an
ongoing basis.
Such a register is being developed in Scotland. However, while
a register is being developed for England and Wales for the 2011
Census, its use will be tightly restricted to the Census and it
will not be maintained thereafter.
