The next
RSS conference will be held at the East Midlands Conference Centre
of the University of Nottingham, from Monday 1 September to Friday
5 September 2008.
An exciting and
wide ranging conference programme is planned which, together with
an excellent venue, promises to make RSS 2008 Conference a very
successful event.
RSS conferences
alternate year on year between themed and general conferences. RSS
2008 will be a general conference, with a scientific programme
aiming to encompass the whole range of statistical interests with
the Society.
The programme will
include a broad range of special topics sessions with invited
speakers from both the UK and abroad, and most RSS sections and
study groups will be sponsoring sessions.
Four distinguished
plenary speakers have been invited as guests, including this year's
Campion (president's invited) lecturer.
The main
conference will start on the morning of Tuesday 2 September and
close after lunch on Friday 5 September. There will be a programme
of pre-conference short courses and other activities on the
Monday.
There will be a
special programme of events for 'young statisticians', both on the
pre-conference day and as part of the main
conference.
As usual for RSS
conferences, there will be a programme of social events including
receptions, a poster evening and the conference
dinner.
We look forward to welcoming you to Nottingham.
