Professional Affairs Committee

The Professional Affairs Committee is responsible for all professional aspects of the Society's work. These include conferral of professional status, provision of professional examinations, accreditation of university courses, continuing professional development, other matters concerned with professional training, and very much else.

The Committee consists of a Chair and eight elected members, all of whom must be holders of Chartered Statistician status (or, equivalently, MIS or FIS). An election is held each year; all professionally qualified members of the Society may participate. In addition, a member of the Council of the Society, appointed by the Council, attends as a non-voting observer.

The Committee's Secretariat is provided by the Director of  Professional and Public Affairs (Roeland Beerten) and the Administrative Officer for Professional Affairs and Examinations (Sarah Barker). They may be contacted by email using the Society's standard style for email addresses, which is initial.surname@rss.org.uk.
