All the information that we hold concerning you as an individual will be held and processed by The Royal Statistical Society in accordance with the provisions of the Data Protection Act 1998.

Such data will be used by The Royal Statistical Society to administer our relationship with you, to provide you with information about our activities, and for related purposes.  We will not supply your data to any third party except where (1) such a transfer is a necessary part of our normal activities, or (2) we are required to do so by law.
For some of the services we offer, it may be necessary to transfer your personal information outside of the European Economic Area to countries that do not have laws providing the same level of protection for your personal information.

When you are on our Website and asked for personal information, you are sharing that information with The Royal Statistical Society alone, unless otherwise stated - for example when you are using our secure online payment pages, you are being connected to Sage Pay and the information that you give, such as your credit card number and contact information, is provided so that the transaction can take place.

The Royal Statistical Society will not disclose any of your personally identifiable information, except under special circumstances, such as when required by law. 

If you indicate an area of interest or that you would like to receive information about The Royal Statistical Society’s activities, we will send you communications electronically.  We may also send you information about future Royal Statistical Society activities.  We never sell or pass your information on to a third party, except under the circumstances detailed above.

The Royal Statistical Society tries to meet the highest standards when collecting and using personal information. For this reason, we take any complaints we receive about this subject very seriously. We encourage people to bring it to our attention if they think that our collection or use of information is unfair, misleading or inappropriate.

Access to personal information

You are entitled to see a copy of the personal data that The Royal Statistical Society holds on you.
