YSS Pre-Ordinary Meetings

This is a new venture organised by the new Young Statisticians Section (YSS) at the Royal Statistical Society (RSS). The aim of Pre-Ordinary Meetings (PrOMs) is to make the read papers  of the Ordinary Meeting that follows more accessible to PhD students, young statisticians and those not familiar with the area discussed in the read paper.

The meetings are held just before the Ordinary meetings and consist of two 30 min talks, one providing introduction to the area covered by the read paper and discussion of current problems, and the other giving a non-technical presentation of the read paper. The latter talk is normally given by the author(s) of the read paper.
