Statistics in Sport Section
Welcome to the Statistics in Sport Section web page. We are a relatively new section of the RSS which aims to foster research in the application of statistics in sports, defined as modelling and analysis inspired by, or applied to, a problem in sport. It also aims to bring together a community of researchers interested in statistics in sport or those working in this field, to share ideas relating to research and applications of statistics in sport, and to support the communication of accurate and informed information on sports statistics to the wider community
The Statistics in Sport Section Committee currently organises meetings about twice per year which are generally open without charge to RSS Fellows and to the general public. These usually involve a number of presentations with discussion on topics relating to the application of statistics in sport. Our meetings are very popular generating lively discussion both during the meetings and socially afterwards.
The Statistics in Sport Section also welcomes opportunities to organise meetings jointly with other organisations, sections or groups.
