CStat application form

The application form can be downloaded as a PDF document (CStat application form PDF) for completion by hand and return by post. It is also available as a Word document (CStat application form Word) in case you wish to complete and return it electronically, but an electronic (i.e. scanned) signature is needed. The form can also be obtained from us (email to qualifications@rss.org.uk).

You need to provide the names and addresses of at least two people to act as referees. Ideally they should be statisticians; if this is not possible, they must nevertheless have direct knowledge of your statistical work and be able to comment authoritatively on it.

We will acknowledge (by email if possible) receipt of your application and allocate a reference number. We will approach your university (or other awarding institution) to obtain verification of your qualifications. We will also write to your referees.

All applications are considered by the Professional Affairs Committee, which meets approximately every two to three months. It can only begin to consider an application when all the necessary information has been received. Processing time therefore depends on the speed of response from universities and referees. You are welcome to contact us (email to qualifications@rss.org.uk), quoting your reference number, for an update on the progress of your application.
