Below is a list of other training providers that provide programmes which may be of interest to statisticians, with links to their websites (reached by clicking on the training provider name). The list is not exhaustive, and inclusion in it does not imply endorsement by the Society. Courses in Applied Social Surveys (CASS)
CASS provides short courses for academic social scientists and applied researchers in government, market research and the independent and voluntary sectors. The programme covers topics in survey design and implementation, survey sampling, data collection and data analysis methods.
Caulcutt Associates offers training and consultancy in applied statistics, performance improvement and human dynamics. Of special interest to members of RSS are our training courses in "Consultancy Skills for Statisticians".
Department of Social Medicine, University of Bristol
The short course programme is designed to offer training in the basic disciplines of epidemiology and health services research for healthcare practitioners and researchers.

PSI (Statisticians in the Pharmaceutical Industry)
PSI is a not-for-profit organisation which provide a forum for discussion of statistics and promotion of good statistical practice within the pharmaceutical industry.

The Statistical Services Unit (SSU) at the University of Sheffield provides consultancy and professional training in pharmacuetical, medical, industrial and government areas of statistics.
University of Southampton, Professional Development in Official Statistics
Professional Development in Official Statistics is a programme of short modules at the University of Southampton in collaboration with the Office for National Statistics. The programme provides specialist skills and knowledge which are central to the conduct of professional statistical work within government. Modules include Survey Methods, Sample Design and Estimation, Data Analysis and the Analysis of Complex Surveys, Demographic Methods and Economic Statistics.
University of Oxford, Department of Continuing Education

MSc programmes in Statistics available by distance learning
The Postgraduate Statistics Centre at Lancaster University offers an MSc in Statistics with pathways in medical statistics, in pharmaceutical statistics and in environmental statistics for those seeking to become career professional statisticians; and an MSc in Quantitative Methods with pathways in Scientific Research Methods, Crime and Social Statistics, in Statistical Methods for Health Research, and in Teaching Statistics (by distance-learning) for those wishing to improve their analytical skills from any background. These programmes are available in part-time/distance-learning mode over periods of from two to five years.
University of Sheffield
The School of Mathematics and Statistics offers three MSc courses in Statistics which can be studied via distance learning. The courses provide practically-based professional training, part-time over two or three years, to students with a good first degree in mathematics/statistics and has EPSRC funding to cover tuition fees.
