Who employs biometricians?

A biometrician working outside the medical field is most likely to be employed in a publicly-funded research institute (for example, a BBSRC [Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council] or NERC [Natural Environment Research Council] institute, or BioSS [Biomathematics & Statistics Scotland]), though there are also opportunities in universities and government agencies such as Forest Research and the Central Science Laboratory.

The generic skills of study design and interpretation learnt as a biometrician are also very attractive to those recruiting in the medical or pharmaceutical sectors.
