Sheffield
Welcome to the Sheffield local group, which has been in existence since 1945. We organise an annual programme of 4-5 talks, in which we aim to cover topical themes across a variety of statistical applications that we hope will appeal to anyone with an interest in statistics. We invite speakers to talk about topics of current interest, both from the local region to showcase statistical activity in South Yorkshire and from around the UK to highlight wider statistical thinking.
All of our talks are free and open to both RSS members and visitors, and are typically held within The University of Sheffield in the late afternoon on Thursdays (with refreshments available beforehand).
