Statistical honours and awards

Statistical excellence in journalism

These awards are made to journalists who question, analyse and investigate the issues that affect society through statistics.
We are currently seeking entries for our 2020 award; the deadline is 31 January 2020

Campion award for excellence in official statistics

Awarded in partnership with the UK Statistics Authority, these awards recognise excellent presentation of official statistics.
We are currently seeking entries for 2020; the deadline is 16 February 2020

Voluntary application award

This new award, in partnership with the Office for Statistics Regulation, recognises organisations that have committed to the voluntary application of the OSR Code of Practice for Statistics.

Florence Nightingale award for excellence in healthcare data analytics

This new award, in partnership with the Health Foundation, celebrates the work of healthcare data analysts who have improved patient care in UK health services.
We are currently seeking entries for 2020; the deadline is 28 February 2020

The journalism, Campion, VA and Florence Nightingale awards will be presented at a ceremony on 12 May at the Royal Statistical Society in London.

Statistical excellence in the pharmaceutical industry

This award recognises an outstanding statistical practices or innovations that have strengthened investigations in the pharmaceutical industry.

Statistical excellence in early career writing

Awarded in partnership with Significance Magazine, this award is for early-career statisticians who are able to tell data-driven stories in an entertaining and thought-provoking way.
