The Society is run by members for members. We rely on the expertise of our members in carrying out the work we do. We organise a wide range of opportunities and initiatives for members looking to contribute to our work and make the most of their membership. In return for your time, you will have the opportunity to raise your profile, develop your network and to learn from other members.
Current volunteering opportunities are above and advertised in our call out to members page, member newsletter and through our communication channels – Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter.
Contribute to the community
Sections promote particular branches and applications of statistics. Each section holds several meetings a year, usually based around a presented paper or talk. Meetings are open to all members.
Special Interest Groups
Special Interest Groups can be formed for a limited three year period to gauge interest in a particular statistical topic or interest area.
Our network of 18 local groups runs meetings that you can attend, speak at and help organise. When you join, your local group will contact you about meetings.
Statistics User Forum
The Statistics User Forum (SUF) works to make sure that the needs and views of the statistical user community are properly taken into account. The SUF is a collective of representatives from a number of Statistical User Groups.
