Anyone with a statistical qualification is welcome to apply for professional accreditation in addition to fellow membership. We offer two professional grades of membership:
Graduate Statistician (GradStat) – for those with a statistics-based degree or a degree which included significant statistics content (including theory, methods and practice)
Chartered Statistician (CStat) – for those with a statistical qualification and/or five or more years of professional experience
Professional accreditation is a great way of gaining recognition for the hard work you have put into achieving your statistical qualification and for your continued professional training and experience. In addition to the benefits offered to fellows, our professional membership categories bring exclusive benefits, including:
- Use of post-nominal designations (GradStat, CStat)
- Opportunity to participate in our mentoring scheme
- Further discounts on conference and events organised by the Society
- Networking opportunities through the Professional Statisticians’ Forum
Further details about our professional membership categories and details on how to apply can be found here.
Mutual Recognition of Qualifications
The RSS now recognises the American Statistical Association’s Professional Statistician (PStat) award as equivalent to the Society’s own Chartered Statistician (CStat) award. This means that holders of the PStat award are automatically eligible to apply for CStat status if they wish to do so. Please contact our professional affairs team at firstname.lastname@example.org to apply.
The ASA also recognises our CStat award as equivalent to PStat. For more information and to apply, visit amstat.org.
