Enter our 2021 early career writing competition

Data took centre stage in 2020 as the world was gripped by the Covid-19 pandemic. In 2021, and with the pandemic still raging, we want to shine a spotlight on data stories from around the globe. So, we are pleased to once again be organising the Statistical Excellence Award for Early-Career Writing, a partnership between our Young Statisticians Section and Signficance magazine.

This international award celebrates career-young statisticians, data scientists and researchers who can demonstrate the skills necessary for effective communication and who recognise the importance of explaining statistics to non-experts.

The award is now open for entries and welcomes submissions from:

  • Students currently studying for a first degree, Master’s or PhD in statistics or related subjects;
  • Graduates whose last qualification in statistics or related subjects (whether first degree, master’s or PhD) was not more than five years ago.

Find out more about the entry criteria and download an entry form at significancemagazine.com/writingcomp.

The deadline for entries is 31 May 2021.
